Surface Preparation for Application

Pressure sensitive adhesives perform best on smooth, clean, dry surfaces.

Use these guidelines for preparing surfaces for application:

• If surface is contaminated with oil or grease, clean it with an evaporative solvent such as methyethylketone.
• If surface is dirty, clean it with #600 emery cloth or 0000 steel wool, followed by solvent cleaning as above.
• Rough surfaces can be smoothed with sandpaper, then with steel wool, and solvent-cleaned to remove residual dirt.
• A final cleaning with a dry, lint-free cloth is advised to remove any solvent film.
