Frequently Asked Questions

How long does a full face respirator last?

Although an unopened filter has a shelf life of 5 years, Seton recommends following safe work practices when using a full face respirator. This means replacing the filter within 6 months (even if it hasn’t been used every day). Filters can still absorb contaminants even when not in use, so it is best to replace them as regularly as possible to make sure that you’re not breathing in potentially dangerous contaminants.

Can this product be used outdoors?

This product is made from a durable Halo-Butyl Elastomer that is renowned for its durability in a wide range of weather conditions. It is suitable for use outdoors, especially for those who work in the construction and mining sectors

What is a full face respirator used for?

Full face respirators are used to protect the eyes and nose from dangerous contaminants in the air. Fibres and dust kicked up by heavy machinery have long-term health effects if breathed in daily.

Full face respirators are popular for those who work with heavy machinery, in industrial plants and in manufacturing centres.

What’s better - a full face respirator or half face respirator?

This will depend on what you intend to use the mask for, as well as what a typical day at work looks like for you and your employees. If you need to protect your whole face as well as your nose and mouth, it’s best to use a full face respirator. Seton recommends using a half face respirator if you need to wear other protective equipment with it (such as a hard hat or ear muffs).

Both have their advantages and disadvantages, so it’s best to plan ahead and consider the type of work you may be undertaking before purchasing a respirator.

Can you clean this respirator?

This full face respirator is made from Halo-Butyl Elastomer, making it a handy reusable long-term respirator. We recommend cleaning this mask at least weekly, by immersing it in either a warm cleaning solution or using a clean wipe.

Keep this mask away from direct sunlight, and stored in a dry, cool place for maximum longevity and durability.
