Product Details

Seton's detectable underground warning tapes range are coloured low density polyethylene tapes printed with a warning message to identify pipes and cables laid beneath the ground.

These tapes, manufactured in accordance with Australian and New Zealand Standards, use stainless steel tracer wires laid in a sinusoidal wave pattern and laminated between two layers of lead free virgin grade rot resistant film to allow for easy marking and locating of buried pipes and cables. This unique design allows the wires to stretch by over 25% before breaking. The tensile strength of the corrosive resistant wire is 680N/mm. The tape also has high resistance for chemical and soil. The soil tolerance is from pH 2.5 to pH 11.0 inclusive.

The detectable underground warning tape should be positioned over the services, generally halfway between the service and the ground surface in the trench so that a warning can be given before service is damaged during an excavation. Detectable up to 600mm underground, these tapes are a necessity for all excavation work, keeping you and your services safe!
