Where should I store my defibrillator?

Store the HeartSine Samaritan 360P Fully Auto AED in an unobstructed, secure location in a clean, dry environment specifically where it will be seen and heard. It is recommended the AED be stored in the soft carry case supplied. Storage outside the temperature range of 0°C to 50°C may decrease the shelf-life of the HeartSine Pad-Pak. How does a defibrillator work?

The HeartSine Samaritan 360P Fully Auto AED only has one button - ON/OFF, for straightforward operation. The HeartSine Samaritan 360P AED is fully automatic (there is no shock button to press). This defibrillator (AED) is designed to quickly deliver a defibrillation shock to victims of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA). During CPR the HeartSine Samaritan 360P AED will play an audible beep and flash the “Safe To Touch” indicator as a guide to the user on how frequently to compress a patient’s chest if CPR is required. The HeartSine Samaritan 360P Fully Auto AED will also provide voice prompts throughout the CPR and defibrillation process including instructions such as “Stand clear of patient - shock will be delivered ” and “Begin CPR”  (HeartSine 360P User Manual, Page 38)

How to place a defibrillator on a patient?

The HeartSine Samaritan 360P Fully Auto AED includes visual instructions on the front of the AED regarding where the electrode pads must be placed. You must strictly observe the instructions in the Emergency User Guide and on the device. 

Is this defibrillator portable?

The HeartSine Samaritan 360P Fully Auto AED - Automatic External Defibrillator is lightweight (only weighing 1.1kg) and is supplied with a carry case for portability. It is also rated as IP56 which is the highest in the industry for protection against dust and water ingress.

Is this child friendly?

For use on smaller children (from 1 to 8 years old), remove the adult Pad-Pak and install a Paediatric-Pak. Paediatric-Pak sold separately. (HeartSine 360P User Manual, Page 19-20)

Does a defibrillator need a maintenance check each time it’s used in an emergency?

After use, the defibrillator should be checked for dirt or contamination and cleaned if necessary. The electrode pads are a single-use item and must be replaced after each use. Dispose of the electrodes separately as infectious waste material.
